How to Help Someone Rob your Home

Have you ever shown a home while the sellers were out of town only to find out that the home was burglarized?  Well it has happened and for me this is a first when I discovered that a relatively high end Indianapolis home had been robbed while the sellers were out of town.  I invite you to read the full story to see exactly how this played out and how you might be able to help other sellers avoid the same fate.

that's such a scary thing

I know a neighborhood that is up in arms right now about some burglaries...

the problem was that the people were out of town and left their cars unlocked in the drive!

no one knew they were out of town so they did not find out about it until they arrived... during their trip, lightning had struck nearby and the security gates had to be manually left open so people were coming and going

I have oftened wondered but I have not personally known of this happening. Showing a home is tricky and I believe showing an empty home is better than a furnished one. Then you have what about the HVAC unit being taking? It is all a gamble and I hope I am not on the receiving end of a bad deal

Welcome to the AR network Pat.  Interesting story on the home security issue.  Another tip on being careful is if you fly out of town and leave your car at an airport parking lot, remember to remove any personal papers, door openers, keys, etc. that could possibly lead someone to your property while you area away.
